But when Edward Snowden posted a photo of himself doing just that on Thursday, the internet suspected him of selling out.

There are still plenty of people who are mad at Snowden, namely Popeye's fans and the House Intelligence Committee, who claimed in a report released Thursday that since his "arrival in Moscow, he has had, and continues to have, contact with Russian intelligence services."

The details supporting that claim were blacked out, according to the New York Times, and Snowden later said on Twitter the report was riddled with "obvious falsehoods."

One thing we know for sure, though, is that his love of greasy fried chicken is pure.
