Anthony Weiner will plead guilty to sending obscene material to a North Carolina teenager in the sexting case that the FBI was investigating in late October 2016 when it infamously found emails on Weiner’s computer that his wife, Huma Abedin, had sent to Hillary Clinton, the New York Timesreports. The emails, which dated from Abedin’s tenure as an aide to Clinton at the State Department, did not turn out to be relevant to the FBI’s previously announced decision not to recommend prosecuting Clinton for mishandling classified information. Ex-agency director James Comey’s announcement that the investigation into Clinton had been reopened, however, may have contributed to her narrow loss in several key states in November’s election, and thus to the current state of surreal misery that the nation now finds itself enveloped in.

A likely result of the plea is that Mr. Weiner would end up as a registered sex offender, although a final determination has yet to be made, the person added.
The charge carries a potential sentence of between zero and 10 years in prison, meaning Mr. Weiner could avoid prison. The ultimate sentence would be determined by a judge.
Messages published by DailyMail.com indicated that Weiner knew his 15-year-old correspondent was underage at the time they were communicating.
Weiner is 52 years old and is gross. He and Abedin reportedly separated last year but may or may not still be estranged.
