One amazing thing that's come out of the awful Hurricane Harvey devastation is the emergence of brave and generous heroes willing help those in need.

While trapped inside the business for two days due to flooding, the staff at Mexican bakery El Bolillo Bakery’s South Wayside Drive store in Houston, Texas used their time to bake hundreds of loaves of bread for their community.

According to HuffPost, the bakery was fortunate enough to still have power, but the staff was trapped inside by the rising floodwater in the streets. Before their eventual rescue Monday morning, the staff used more than 4,200 pounds of flour to make bread and pan dulce to deliver to emergency centers across the area.

The bakery shared images of the delicious goodies on their Facebook and Instagram pages, and by the looks of it, they were very, very busy baking.

“By the time the owner managed to get to them, they had made so much bread that we took the loaves to loads of emergency centers across the city for people affected by the floods,” the store’s manager, Brian Alvarado, told The Independent.

The hardworking staff of the bakery has since been praised on social media for their efforts.

Someone was so grateful for the bakery's generous act that they donated money to the bakers and cashiers who lost homes and cars in the flood.

The bakery's owner, Kirk Michaelis, has also set up a GoFundMe page to continue to help raise money for those staff members who lost valuables in the storm, yet continued to aid their community.

Not all heroes wear capes – some wear aprons.
